Comprehensive Solution to Towing Management

C:LOGIC’s Vehicle Information-sharing and Notification Service (VINS) is a comprehensive solution that streamlines towing operations, lowers compliance costs and enables collaboration and information sharing via a secure, authoritative repository. VINS patent-pending technology was developed with hands-on involvement from Law Enforcement and Information Technology personnel and former leaders of the Houston law enforcement community, and has been shown to be the right answer for non-consent towing management.

Delivered Software as a service (SaaS), VINS is hosted in a high-performance data center and is completely browser-based, eliminating the need to purchase hardware, install software or drain already-overworked IT resources. Upgrades are seamless and best of all, VINS can be accessed from any computer or mobile device.

How Does VINS Work?

Towed car information flows directly from police cruiser MDTs and CAD systems to avoid double data entry. A secure portal for Law Enforcement provides access to the storage lot inventory records, allowing direct management and control of vehicle holds /releases and performance of compliance oversight audits.

Towing and Storage companies use a secure VINS portal or their existing lot management software to report private property tows, acknowledge receipt and release of towed vehicles and submit mandatory inventory compliance reports.

A public facing website allows anyone who has had their car towed to search by plate or VIN to locate their car. This website is also available to 311 and other non-emergency help desk personnel to answer towing inquiries.

VINS supports multi-jurisdictional reporting, allowing cities and counties to share towing and storage information and be on the forefront of other joint regional, state and national law enforcement efforts.

Today VINS is the only software solution available on the market today that provides:

• Support for the full non-consent towing life cycle, from electronic tow slip entry to vehicle release
• Secure access to a multi-jurisdictional data repository, enabling neighboring law enforcement agencies    to collaborate and share data on a regional level
• Secure access for towing industry professionals to facilitate online regulatory compliance reporting
• Citizen access to facilitate searching for a towed vehicle through a public-facing web site
• A standards-based open API, to facilitate rapid, seamless, secure integration with both law enforcement    systems and storage lot point solutions
